Arkansas needs change.

Our leaders have had years to make life better for us, but they’ve only made life worse. This is one of the hardest states to be a child, a parent, a senior, or anybody who looks or thinks differently from the ones in office in Little Rock. Here’s what I’m running to do about it.

Education: Public dollars are for public schools.

I want to support our teachers, schools and districts more, not bleed them dry for vouchers to wealthy private and religious schools. Though it didn’t get on the ballot this year, I supported the Arkansas Educational Rights Amendment of 2026 to rein in the governor’s LEARNS Act and expand education access for all.

I want to give schools and educators the support they need to innovate, to explain the world as it really is, and to prepare the next generation for a better future.

Economy: Our lives are harder because conmen, cranks and cowards are in charge.

Our state can and must do more to stand up for us against an insane federal government that’s making everything more expensive with stupid wars, idiotic tariffs and bottomless corruption. The nation’s leaders steal billions, let their buddies get away with everything, and give themselves tax cuts while the rest of us keep on paying.

I’m running to end to the madness and to pick up the slack for disappearing federal funding for health care, food and other needs.

Democracy: The People Rule, period.

Those in power in D.C. and Little Rock are tired of being accountable to voters and of having to listen to the people. That’s too bad. They work for us, not the other way around.

I support the Arkansas Ballot Measure Rights Amendment to take back our power and protect our rights to vote and to decide our own state laws. I also want to make it easier for all eligible citizens to register to vote.

Health care: Too many of us are dying too soon, and we all pay for it.

Arkansas must pick up the slack for the Medicaid and Medicare dollars that our president and his party are taking away.

The state also must improve health insurance across the board, so that living life and staying healthy aren’t a ticket to bankruptcy. I want the state to help the portion of people who require the bulk of health care spending, taking care of those in the most need while lowering costs for everyone else.

Public safety: Working with ICE makes all of us, immigrant or not, less safe.

Arkansas requires local law enforcement to partner with out-of-control federal agents who carelessly destroy the lives of citizens and immigrants of every legal status. It’s wrong, and it puts us all at risk.

Instead, I want those agents barred from our schools, churches and hospitals, so that they can focus on removing dangerous criminals instead of families and workers who are trying to do the right thing.

I want masks off of these agents’ faces, so that they have to stand by their actions like every police officer does.

And I want ICE’s victims to be able to sue for property damage and violated rights, so that ICE has to obey our Constitution.

Housing: Rogers is leading the way to more housing options.

To make housing easier to obtain, there’s no two ways about it: We simply need to build more. The city of Rogers has taken several great steps to make that happen, simplifying development while respecting our community’s needs and priorities. The state should follow its example and even the playing field for every city.

Environment: We all depend on clean water and thriving nature.

Our state must take a more active role in keeping Osage Creek, the Illinois River and other NWA waterways clean. It should also incentivize the use of green infrastructure, which is one of our most powerful tools for coexisting with and protecting the natural world around us.

LGBTQ community: The state should mind its own damn business.

Arkansas’ elected Republicans have been obsessed with tormenting queer and trans people of all ages, taking over public libraries, banning safe health care and invading the privacy of children and families of all kinds. Enough. It’s not helping anyone. I want a state government that leaves us all alone.

Abortion: State law shouldn’t let rapists pick out the mothers of their children.

I’d be happiest if no abortion was ever needed again. But I know we won’t get there with our state’s near-total ban, which intrudes where government doesn’t belong and allows rapists to select the woman (or often, the girl) of their choosing to bear their children.

I also know Arkansas is one of the most dangerous states to be a new mother and baby. These facts are unacceptable. We need better sex education and contraception access, sensible policy for women’s health care, and more support for new parents.
